Designed to ease the transition from the hospital to home, Little Company of Mary
Mother Infant Program offers services for both mother and baby. With the
mothers consent and a doctors order, a qualified perinatal nurse will
visit your home 2-3 days after discharge from Little Company of Mary
Hospital.
What Will the Nurse Do?

For the Baby:

Behavior answer questions on crying, sleeping patterns

Immunizations guidelines and follow-up appointment
recommendations

Illness what are common signs? what should I do?

Blood tests done by the nurse based on an individual need with
the doctors order

For the Mother:
|

Breast and bottle feeding helpful hints, formula preparation,
instructional guidance and various feeding techniques
|

Medical Care remove staples, care of incision, blood pressure
check, discuss nutrition, weight, hygiene and breast-feeding
|

Adjustment common feelings, getting your rest, taking time
for yourself and review of commonly asked questions from new parents
|
|
| |
Enjoy yourself provide support and encouragement so that
you may enjoy the new addition to your family

How Do I Qualify?
|
California law entitles you to homecare services:
|

If you leave the hospital within 48 hours after a vaginal
childbirth
|
| |
If you leave the hospital within 96 hours after a caesarean
section
|
| |
Your doctor will need to give an order for homecare services
|
