As the most commonly occurring cancer in this country, close to one million Americans will develop skin cancer this year. If all skin cancers were brought to a doctor’s attention before they had a chance to spread, the cure rate could be 100%. Although doctors cannot explain why one person develops skin cancer and another does not, research has shown that people with certain risk factors are more likely to develop skin cancer.
