Although he was born in Taiwan, Dr. Cheng grew up in the Southland and considers Southern California home. While training as an intern, he found his interest in liver diseases. He became involved in hepatitis research, and eventually completed a liver fellowship with Dr. Myron Tong, a world-renowned hepatitis expert. Dr. Cheng has published a number of studies on hepatitis B and hepatitis C. He is active in church and enthusiastic about medical missions abroad. He enjoys outdoor photography, music, table tennis and traveling.
